Needle roller bearings are a core type of rolling bearing characterized by their ultra-small radial size, high load capacity, and compact structure. Compared with other bearings, they can withstand large radial loads in limited installation spaces and are widely used in machinery, automobiles, engineering equipment, and transmission systems. According to different structural designs, needle roller bearings are mainly divided into six classic categories, each designed for different working conditions.
1. Stamped Outer Ring Needle Roller Bearings (HK / BK Series)
This series adopts thin stamped steel outer rings without inner rings. It is divided into open type (HK) and closed end type (BK). Featuring lightweight structure, small radial thickness and cost-effective performance, these bearings are suitable for high-speed and light-load scenarios. The closed-end structure can bear a small amount of axial force and effectively prevent dust and oil leakage. They are commonly applied in automotive gearboxes, motorcycle connecting rods and general mechanical transmission parts.
2. Solid Ring Needle Roller Bearings (NA / NKI / RNA Series)
Solid ring needle roller bearings are manufactured with precision turned solid outer rings, available with or without inner rings. The NA and NKI models come with inner rings for direct installation, while RNA and NK models have no inner rings, requiring hardened and polished shaft journals as raceways. These bearings offer high rigidity, high precision and strong load-bearing capacity, supporting single-row and double-row structures. They are widely used in machine tool spindles, reducers, construction machinery and heavy-duty gearboxes.
3. Needle Roller and Cage Assemblies (K Series)
K-series assemblies consist of only needles and cages, without inner and outer rings. They rely directly on the shaft and housing bore as rolling raceways. With the smallest radial installation size and ultra-compact design, they require high precision and hardness of matching parts. They are ideal for narrow space occasions such as planetary gears, robot joints and precision miniature mechanical structures.
